Sixteen-year-old Agatha Ascherdown perishes in a fire along with eleven other young girls. Burned alive by villagers, they were suspected of practicing witchcraft at Blackwood Farm. Charlotte Ascherdown, Agatha's mother, is reported missing by her husband, Jonathon, shortly thereafter.
